Classic Boat Museum
Project Overview
A home for valued collections. The owners of an estate on a pristine Minnesota lake came to Nor-Son to help design and transform a nondescript storage facility into a spectacular space to store collections as well as entertain guests. The result is an elegant yet highly functional space for a bar, dance floor, state and seating areas, as well as for showcasing the clients’ collection of antique boats, cars, hunting trophies and awards.
Symbolic spaces for entertaining. Inspired by the old Adirondack camps of northern New York, this classic boat museum reflects a rustic yet luxurious ambiance, rich in Native American history and a perfect complement to the clients’ appreciation for sophistication. Collaborating with Interior Designer Marie Meko, a dramatic tipi adornment was added over the bar area to serve as a symbol of community and an invitation to gather together.
